Really hoping Isla is now in pup after a sucessful mating this weekend.  This will be a litter of Cavapoos and has taken a great deal of planning and thought.  Whilst I love the Cavalier breed, I have spent 5 years researching the health issues and health testing.  I have come to the conclusion, that however much health testing is done, not enough is currently known about the way some of these genetic disorders are passed on.  The idea that a Cavalier pup may develop one of these awful conditions, such a syringomyelia, is just not a chance I am prepared to take.  I feel the only way to preserve the wonderful characteristics of the breed is to outcross to a different breed where there is little or no chance of these conditions being inherited.  My main concern when breeding is to produce healthy pet dogs with outstanding temperaments.  I have high hopes for this litter!
